Meet Alexander

18 10 2010

Meet Alexander. He is a Shih Tzu who was found wandering in the cold last February by Dent County Animal Welfare Society (DCAWS). They traced his microchip to a breeder who explained that he sold Alexander at auction in April of 2009. Unfortunately, the breeder did not keep records of the purchase.

It has been eight months since his rescue and this brave little guy is still searching for a home where he can receive the love and attention he deserves. Alexander enjoys spending time with dogs, cats and people, but needs time to come out of his shell. He is looking for a kind, patient friend who will give him the courage to be a happy pup.

Animals like Alexander will benefit from the proceeds raised at the Fall Four-footed Frolic on Saturday, October 23. If you have any questions about Alexander or if you want to find out more about DCAWS, please contact Charlotte at (573) 308-6365 or Jane at (314) 495-5002.

Ready, Set, Go!

15 10 2010

Hello all,

We are very excited about our upcoming event. John and I have been organizing and planning our hearts out! We want to thank everyone who is helping out and attending the event. We hope it is a huge success! We are planning on having a lot of fun activities for pets and their owners. There will be pet adoptions, a doggy costume contest (starts at 2 p.m.), hayrides, face painting, an auction, behavior demonstrations, a paint-by-number mural, horse presentations, hot dog bobbing (for dogs only) and more! Plus, Y98 will be there to broadcast the event and there will be live music the whole day. Remember, admission to the event is $5 per family or a bag of pet food (any size) to benefit Stray Rescue, Canines in Crisis and Dent County Animal Welfare Society (DCAWS). Spread the word, bring your family and let’s have a great event to help our friends!  If you have any questions, please visit http://www.frolic-inn.com or call us at (636) 458-3090!

See you there,

Kristen

Fall Four-footed Frolic

12 10 2010

The Frolic Inn, formerly Vinroc Kennels, invites dogs and their families to the Fall Four-footed Frolic charity event on Saturday, October 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It’ll be a day of fun for the whole family!

Admission to the event is $5 per family or one bag of pet food (any size) to support Stray Rescue, Dent County Animal Welfare Society (DCAWS) and Canines in Crisis Inc. Events include hayrides, face painting, behavior demonstrations, bobbing for hot dogs (for dogs only), and pictures with your dog. Y-98 radio personality, Paul Cook, will kick off the event from 10 a.m. to noon and the doggy costume contest will start at 2 p.m. Rescue dogs will also be on-site, ready to shake paws, lick faces and sniff out good prospects for a new adoptive home.

The Fall Four-footed Frolic also marks the reopening of Vinroc Kennels as The Frolic Inn. Over the past three years, the facility has expanded to include nature trails, animal daycare, a Japanese garden, an off-leash dog park, and now a new name and mission: Giving the dogs entrusted to us the best quality care possible when they are with us, so that we can not only better their lives, but also better the lives of all animals.

The Frolic Inn is located at 16932 Rodgers Ave. in Wildwood, Missouri. If you would like more information about the event, please refer to the poster below, visit www.frolic-inn.com or call (636) 458-3090.

Come join us on Saturday, October 23, rain or shine!

Welcome

12 10 2010

Hi, and welcome to our blog! Frolic Inn, formerly Vinroc Kennels, located in Wildwood, MO, takes all the usual kennel services— boarding, daycare and grooming for dogs and cats — to a new level of care in an environment that is inspiring and sustainable. While at Frolic Inn, your pet will enjoy walks with their new staff friends, playing in the off-leash dog park, chilling out by the fountain in our Zen Garden, looking their best after careful grooming, and learning important manners (along with a few tricks) through positive pet teaching. Your pet can stay for daycare or for longer periods of time. In addition, Frolic Inn participates in rescues and adoptions, so if you are looking for a special friend to join your family, we are the people to talk to! For more information, please feel free give us a call at (636) 458-3090!

Check back to read more about our dog (and cat) days!
